Bachata New!

One of the easier Latin social dances to learn, bachata originated in the Dominican Republic and is now danced worldwide. This class is great for beginners and a good addition to the dance repertoire for those with salsa experience. Come with or without a partner.

Ballroom Dance: Waltz and Tango New!

This class will focus on two of the most romantic ballroom dances, the American Ballroom Waltz and the American Tango. You'll learn the basic steps, frame, lead/follow, and some general rules and styling for both dances. Come with or without a partner.

Blues

Blues dancing is a partner dance that originated in black communities and juke joints in the early 1900s. You’ll learn the basics of this fun, improvisational dance while practicing to a variety of styles of blues music. Session 2 will focus on different styles of blues dancing and will build on Session 1. Previous dance experience recommended if starting with Session 2. No partner necessary!

East Coast Swing

Come learn this fun, energetic partner dance and join the swing scene! In this beginning-level class, you’ll be introduced to lead/follow techniques and basic footwork and then progress to more complex moves as you become more confident on the dance floor. Session 2 builds on Session 1. Previous dance experience recommended if starting with Session 2. No partner necessary!

Lindy Hop

Lindy is an 8-count swing dance originating in Harlem in the 1920s and 30s. This class introduces fundamental material, including syncopated triple steps and the Lindy basic, and then progresses to more complicated moves. Previous East Coast Swing or other social dance experience is helpful, but not required. Session 2 will build on Session 1 (if not taking both sessions, knowledge of a Swing-Out is recommended for taking Session 2). No partner necessary!

Salsa

With its irresistible Latin rhythms, salsa is one of most popular partner dances worldwide. This class is suitable for true beginners, but experienced dancers who would like a review will also benefit. Sessions 1 and 2 will cover different steps, so students may wish to take both. No partner or experience necessary; smooth-soled shoes recommended.

Social Dance Sampler

This is a great class for the novice who wants a taste of a variety of dances. You’ll learn basic lead and follow techniques as you are introduced to some of the most popular partner dances, including foxtrot, waltz, swing and salsa. Different beginner-level dances will be covered in each session, so come to one or both, with or without a partner.

West Coast Swing

West Coast Swing is more complex than East Coast Swing and can be danced to a variety of music, including pop, blues and country. The level 1 class is open to total beginners; students in the higher-level classes should have some swing dance experience. Come with or without a partner.
