Belly Dance: Basics and Beyond
Come learn the art of classical Egyptian belly dance! Each workshop focuses on a different aspect; all steps for the combinations will be taught during the workshop, so no previous belly dance experience is required, and drop-ins are welcome. Hip-Hop in HeelsWanna feel sexy? This workshop will begin with a barefoot warm-up followed by a fun combination to be done in heels. Focus will be on the lines of the body, and developing the confidence to dance in heels. Shmaga/PeopleThis is a Gaga/People inspired class open to students of all levels. Gaga is a movement language that originated from a belief in the healing, dynamic, ever-changing power of movement. It was developed by Ohad Naharin and is the daily training method of the Batsheva Dance Company in Tel Aviv, Israel. Evocative imagery will be used to guide students to new ways of connecting to the body and the imagination. Participants will actively explore the ideas and instructions in their own way while discovering deeper physical awareness, flexibility, stamina, and the pleasure of moving in a welcoming, accepting atmosphere.
