Belly Dance: Basics and Beyond

Come learn the art of classical Egyptian belly dance! Aziza Fadwa teaches mix
and match combinations, customizable for any level. All steps for the
combinations will be taught during the workshop, so no previous belly dance
experience is required!. Each workshop focuses on a different element;
drop-ins are welcome. All together, this sequence of classes will provide the
student with a dance vocabulary suitable for any Middle Eastern music. For more

Stories and Play: A Movement Workshop New!


The healing power of stories and play is undeniable. In this workshop, we’ll use movement, props, games, our voices and each other to create a playful story-world. There will be laughter, stretching, satisfaction and surprise. No experience necessary; just come with an open mind for a delightful and enriching afternoon!

The HoopPath: Dancing with Hoops New!

The HoopPath workshop focuses on the spiritual and technical dimensions of hoopdance.
Through myth and metaphor, the HoopPath deepens the student's metaphorical and physical understanding of a wide variety of hoop moves and dynamics. HoopPath concepts such as pe*A*ce, Ritmo, One Tree/Two Tree, Reversing, and Breaking will be defined and explored. Rigorous but joyful, you will be glad you came! For Men Only! New!

So, guys -- you think you can’t dance?? Are you afraid you’ll be embarrassed in a class full of women? Here’s your chance to try out your moves in a safe environment. After a warm-up, you’ll learn some basic hip-hop and jazz funk techniques that you can use to amaze your friends and family! Beginners welcome!

Argentine Tango

This is a crash course for beginners in the social "salon" style of Argentine tango. Students will be introduced to the basic vocabulary, concepts and skills needed to feel comfortable attending a local "milonga." Topics to be covered include tango embrace, connection, posture, walking systems, improvisation and turns. No experience necessary; come with or without a partner (partners will rotate.)

Irish Step Dance New!

Ever wanted to dance like Riverdance or Lord of the Dance? Have fun while learning this high-spirited traditional style of dance from the Emerald Isle. Soft shoe & hard shoe will be introduced; hard-soled shoes are recommended for hard shoe, while socks or jazz shoes will work for soft shoe.

Poi Spinning/ Poi Flags New!

Poi spinning originated from the traditional performance art of the Maori people of New Zealand. It involves swinging balls on ropes in a variety of patterns; of special interest to belly dancers, it increases flexibility, strength and coordination in everyone. Poi flags are pieces of light-weight fabric which are spun using the same principles as poi but with a different, exciting look. Poi will be available for loan or purchase.
